Two people have been killed and dozens more injured in a mass shooting during an open-air country music festival in Las Vegas.
The city's famous strip was on lockdown after prolonged automatic gunfire, which reportedly came from a top floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino.
Thousands of people dived for cover as hundreds of shots rained down on the crowd during the Route 91 Harvest Festival at about 10.20pm on Sunday local time (6.20am Monday BST).
Police later said one suspect was "down", adding that they did not believe there were any more attackers.

Earlier unconfirmed reports claimed that "two or three" gunmen were shooting from a top floor of the hotel.
An off-duty police officer was among those shot. Las Vegas Hospital confirmed that at least two people have been killed and 24 had suffered suspected gunshot wounds.

The shooting came towards the end of the three-day Route 91 Harvest Festival while Jason Aldean, the American country music singer, was on stage.
Mr Aldean posted on Instagram that he and his crew are safe, as he said: "My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved."

Witness: Multiple gunmen fired hundreds of shots

The number of attackers involved in the Las Vegas shooting remains unclear. These witnesses have told a local NBC reporter that he is convinced that multiple gunmen were behind the attack, saying that "hundreds of shots" rained down on the crowd.

Police do not believe there are any more gunmen

After saying that one suspect is "down", police have released an update that they do not believe there are any more gunmen. It is not known if this means that earlier reports of multiple gunmen were wrong - or if other suspects have been caught.

Flashes reported from hotel as gunfire rains down on concert

Concert-goers reported seeing flashes from the upper floors of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino.
Witnesses said they saw multiple victims as they fled the gunfire raining down on the open-air concert venue nearby.
